By 2050 renewable energy could supply nearly 100% of our energy needs.

The management at PGS have been working hard to take their endeavours in renewable energy a big step further in 2011. As mentioned in our 2010 year round up, we plan to make renewable energy a core part to our business. We feel that something needs to be done about cutting CO2 emissions and creating sustainable energy solutions for the home, so we’re building on our current infrastructure to be able to supply all of Greater London with innovative renewable energy solutions.

We’re one of many companies that believe renewable energy is the future, but the question is – can we really expect to see all of our power come from these sustainable sources? Greenpeace seem to think so. One of their latest statements claim that if European leaders get their act together, we could see 68% of the EU’s energy needs fulfilled by renewable energy by as soon as 2030. Then up to 99.5% by 2050. Of course these are only estimates by environmental campaigners, and the realities are that the amount of government spending on renewable energy involved would have to increase exponentially to achieve this. As no one really has any money at the moment, this most likely won’t happen. However, we are definitely on track to achieve our 15% UK renewable energy target by 2020.

Taking renewable energy into your own hands will ensure that you’re doing your bit to help the environment and of course cut your bills. There are many different options available, from Ground source heat pumps to solar panels, but finding the most cost effective solution is often hard. If you’re thinking about this kind of energy solution to your home, give PGS a call to discuss your needs.
